About The Position

Responsible for directing the operation and maintenance of MARTA's Office of Rail Maintenance, providing overall management of the rapid rail transit vehicles. Directs efforts of subordinate staff to meet or exceed the Office's goals regarding safety, quality, and efficiency. Oversees the operating and capital budgets for the Office of Rail Maintenance. Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations affecting service and facilities. This position has been identified as having responsibility for transit safety oversight at MARTA and is required to comply with the training requirements identified in the Authority’s Agency Safety Plan. Training requirements must be completed within 3 years of employment. MARTA is a Drug Free Workplace. Participation in MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program is a condition of employment. Failure to adhere to MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program will result in termination. Every MARTA employee is responsible for reading and observing the requirements of the Drug & Alcohol policy. This position has been identified as SAFETY SENSITIVE.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Must have ten years of professional experience in rail vehicle maintenance, with a minimum of five years management experience.
• Must demonstrate ability to develop and execute budgets, training programs, human relations functions, new equipment fielding, and capital program design and execution.
• Knowledge of labor relations required.
• In lieu of a degree, directly related management experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Training requirements must be completed within 3 years of employment.
• Participation in MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program is a condition of employment.
• Every MARTA employee is responsible for reading and observing the requirements of the Drug & Alcohol policy.
