About The Position

The Director of Nursing is responsible for Mission and Values implementation, operational leadership and direction of assigned departments. Is responsible for assigned services for performance planning and improvement; clinical quality; fiscal and service results; and patient, customer, and employee satisfaction. Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Bachelor Degree Nursing
• Master Degree Nursing
• 5 or more years of supervisory and management experience
• Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing

Nice To Haves

• Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

Responsibilities

• Advocates for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions and institutions and organizations, especially related to health and safety.

• Collaborates with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.
• Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services.
• Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statues, rules and regulations.
• Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
• Integrates research findings into practice.
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
