About The Position

The Dir Medical Staff Credentialing is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Medical Staff Office at Laredo Medical Center. This role involves managing the credentialing process for practitioners, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and facilitating communication between various hospital departments. The director plays a crucial role in supporting medical staff committees and maintaining the quality of medical staff operations.

Requirements

• Associates Degree required; Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Three to five years of Administrative Assistant experience required.
• Minimum of two years experience in hospital medical secretarial background preferred.
• Proficiency in word processing and computer skills required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects.
• Self-motivated and emotionally mature, able to function effectively under stress.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and organize the operations of the Medical Staff Office.
• Oversee the credentialing of practitioners, including physicians and allied health professionals.
• Manage privileging, bylaws, and policy development.
• Support medical staff committees and peer review processes.
• Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
• Schedule and maintain minutes of Medical Staff meetings.
• Draft Emergency On-Call schedules.
• Serve as a liaison between the Medical Staff, Quality Department, Administration, and other Hospital Departments.
