Responsibilities: Directs a team responsible for a variety of financial activities, including accounting, financial analysis, audit, tax, credit and collections for a specific school or department. Develops, evaluates, and drives financial plans and policies. Establishes metrics for, and drives, accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls. Has accountability for the performance and results of teams. Develops and executes departmental plans, including business, production, operational and/or organizational priorities. Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility. Implements functional or departmental strategy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in the development of costing concepts and mechanisms to create and maintain school or department financials. Develops and analyzes reports to identify and investigate significant deviations in financial performance. Directs and manages financial reporting, cost accounting, and revenue and expense tracking. Develops, maintains, and implements reporting/analytical forms. Provides senior financial analytical work for the most complex projects for assigned school or department financial operations. Develops and tracks key performance indicators for the school or department and reports trends to leadership. Utilizes enterprise-level reporting tools to develop reporting analytics which support operational decision-making and best practices for the school’s or department’s line of business. Assists with developing and implementing performance improvement programs which create a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Performs market and needs analysis for new programs to support growth and the capture of incremental market share. Evaluates needs of the regional communities and develops business and operational plans to address those opportunities. Tracks business improvement plans as submitted and approved by department. Provides leadership and management to ensure assigned school or department leadership has the appropriate data to make timely and future state planning decisions about operating, capital, and cash to ensure financial sustainability. Manages and leads the financial staff across assigned school or department Coordinates with departmental heads and others to ensure effective service levels and cooperative relations. Serves on various committees. Other duties as assigned.
