About The Position

The Director of Field Compensation is responsible for end-to-end support of the Pro and Home Services lines of business including incentive design, governance and implementation of sales compensation programs. This leader will act as the primary owner and architect of compensation structures that drive high performance, support talent retention, ensure market competitiveness, and align with the Pro and Home Services business and financial objectives. This includes responsibility for ongoing governance and team adherence to processes, partnering with finance on financial modeling and accounting on forecasting/accruals, working with technology on administrative design, and reporting as well as working with cross-functional partners to deliver for the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of general experience, with at least 6 years experience in Corporate or Field Compensation.
  • Experience dealing with confidential information.
  • Experience training/mentoring individual team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience working in field compensation with a focus on incentive administration.
  • Experience managing others in a team environment.
  • CCP - Certified Compensation Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and development of field sales incentive programs for the Pro and Home Services lines of business (commission and bonus plans).
  • Serve as a key advisor to HRBPs and business leaders for assigned areas to design and deliver compensation programs and practices that ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and drive appropriate behaviors to support a strong pay-for-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to gain in-depth knowledge of business lines and deliver compensation solutions that meet business needs.
  • Lead the incentive design processes with specific focus on sales compensation and commission plans, including ongoing reviews and process updates to ensure an efficient and effective process that delivers business results.
  • Partner with cross-functional peers to assist in plan automation (HRIS/HRIT), and financial modeling and accrual updates (finance).
  • Ensure compensation programs comply with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on cross-functional teams and supports the broader Field Compensation team by supporting the development of executive presentations when needed.
  • Interpret and present complex compensation data and insights to senior leadership, facilitating informed decision making.
  • Support the oversight of job leveling and pricing of supported business areas to ensure consistency through peer review/alignment meetings.
  • Ensure timely resolution of associate compensation inquiries, involving legal review when necessary and maintaining adherence to SLAs.
  • Oversee implementation of programs and processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direct management to compensation analysts, ensuring high performance, professional development, and effective execution of incentive programs.
