About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Director (FMD) is responsible for overseeing and managing Facility Services, which includes Maintenance, Plant Operations, and Environmental Services. This position requires a strong background in facility maintenance leadership, particularly in a healthcare setting. The FMD will ensure compliance with various regulatory standards and will spend a portion of their time at the AL Clinical School (ACS). The role involves direct oversight of maintenance operations and coordination of environmental services to maintain a safe and compliant facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of facility maintenance leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current Driver's license required.
  • Demonstrated skill in planning, organizing, and achieving objectives.
  • Recognized ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Working knowledge of health care sanitation and plant operations.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO standards and State Regulations regarding EOC and Life Safety.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a healthcare facility manager.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the facility Safety Officer, responsible for hospital disaster, fire, and safety programs.
  • Conduct fire drills and coordinate regular safety inspections throughout the hospital.
  • Establish procedures for promoting safe working conditions and investigate accidents.
  • Supervise Maintenance staff, ensuring accurate time recording and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate work schedules for Maintenance and develop departmental budgets.
  • Monitor department spending and schedule annual inspections of fire equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections of building, equipment, and renovation programs.
  • Maintain documentation on hospital routine checks and preventive maintenance.
  • Supervise the Environment Service Manager in coordinating housekeeping and maintenance duties.
