Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years' experience as manager for Facilities Management in a healthcare environment.
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) required. Other Facilities or Engineering credentials recommended.
  • Ten (10) years of facilities experience in health care or similar industry, to include five (5) years of management experience.
  • Management experience should encompass oversight of financials, project management, and staff development.
  • Proven success in team building and strong presentation skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs the implementation of organization's Facilities Management goals, objectives, and strategies and aligns same to those of the organization.
  • Responsible for the organization's facilities and equipment assets. Leads a team of Facilities Management managers who coordinate and implement Facilities Management services, policies, and programs throughout the organization.
  • Monitors and supports all facility operations and maintenance teams to provide a safe, attractive, and functional environment.
  • Provides Facilities Management direction on improving organizational capabilities, optimizing processes, and improving standards of performance, quality, and safety.
  • Supports all Facilities Management departments in achieving financial and operational goals. Represents Facilities Management and coordinates with Materials Management on all equipment maintenance and facility service contracts for the organization.
  • Develops and implements strategies to optimize energy management and conservation throughout the organization.
  • Ensures facilities stay in compliance with all applicable law and regulatory requirements such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) and The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Ensures a safe physical environment for patients, visitors, and team members.
  • Collaborates directly with Corporate Safety on areas relating to EOC and Life Safety Systems.
  • Interfaces Facilities Management activities with Facility Development to ensure continuity in long range planning, new construction, renovations, and repairs.
  • Develops and presents budget estimates, capital planning estimates, and control expenditures for the Facilities Management departments.
  • Maintains effective liaisons with local outside planning and enforcement agencies (i.e., Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), The Joint Commission (TJC), local fire departments and other governmental agencies).
  • Acts as the Chairperson for the Fire Safety and Utility Systems Management Focus Team Council or Corporate Facilities Site EOC Committee to guide Council or Committee business and direction and provides site specific fire safety and utility systems related data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Facilities Management.
  • Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
