About The Position

Supporting Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) in Maryland, the Dir Corporate Community Impact will develop, lead, and execute strategic corporate giving programs, energy assistance/community engagement and workforce development initiatives. Including, but not limited to, developing and managing strategies that build goodwill, inform, educate and influence external stakeholders’ views and perspectives on Exelon initiatives, as outlined below: Workforce Collaborative Program · STEM Education & Career Awareness · Develop Workforce Pipeline and Pathway into Energy Careers · Corporate contributions · Events management · Sponsorships · Employee giving campaign · Sports Facilities Management · Employee Volunteer Program and energy assistance. · Memberships and dues · Matching Gifts Program · Community and Non-Profit Relations · Low-Income outreach and stakeholder management · Employee Board training and placement · Executive Positioning Monitor and evaluate these initiatives to ensure that they support the overall business goals and objectives. Direct and manage staff to accomplish the activities listed above while developing an environment that promotes diversity, high productivity and professional development. In addition, the position will: work with market research to develop and lead initiatives that have a direct and positive impact on customer satisfaction, specifically related to corporate reputational and community engagement; lead execution of business objectives by leveraging community partners and non-profits to support rate cases, legislation, technology enhancements, credit and collection and low-income programs which are critical elements of the business; ensure that the corporate cultural inclusion values are represented in all the work with community partners and non-profits; and lead the corporate positioning internally and externally in support of the corporate stewardship which impacts overall corporate reputation. This position also involved serving as a point of contact for initiative with the external stakeholders, including municipal officials, Councils of Government, community groups and a conduit of information and feedback from the external stakeholders and regulatory stakeholders to the Company. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration/ communications or equivalent
12 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years' relevant experience in working with external stakeholders. Community engagement and/or workforce development as a manager or supervisor.
In lieu of degree, 15-20 years of relevant experience.
Experience demonstrating the skills to lead teams and accomplish organizational goals.
Extensive experience demonstrating the skills to respond to and resolve reputational goals.
Experience demonstrating the skills to identify, recommend, and implement process and productivity improvements.
Extensive experience demonstrating the skills to serve as a liaison with customer, communities, low-income stakeholders, external corporations, government and/or public agencies for complex issues.
Experience demonstrating the skills to adhere to safety rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 years' experience in public relations, communications, advertising, media relations and/or certification in Public Affairs and in handling community and philanthropic activities/programs.
Graduate degree or graduate level work in Business or Communications desirable
Extensive experience demonstrating the skills to develop and/or implement customer and community initiatives and strategies.
Experience demonstrating the skills to develop and deliver formal presentations and other communications to internal and external clients such as customer, other departments, public groups, and/or community organizations.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Corporate Relations, community engagement and Workforce development staff in the successful completion of the department goals and objectives while remaining within budget.
Build cross-functional teams to integrate initiatives and reputational strategy into communications, public relations and marketing plans and position corporate citizenship brand. Relate community involvement initiatives to sponsorship impacts.
Recommend and implement corporate giving and workforce development policies and programs that are aligned with culture of the Company and complements and enhance business objectives.
Counsel grantees and structure grants to fully maximize and leverage dollars for the organization.
Notify and administer process of communicating disposition of grant requests. Monitor approved grants to ensure compliance with terms of grants as well as effectiveness. Develop strategies for measuring and evaluating program outcomes. Develop and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of grant making and corporate citizenship initiatives.
Represent the corporation’s philanthropic initiatives externally and internally to audiences including the media, the general public, other companies, public officials, foundations and professional associations of grant makers in areas where the corporation facilities exist. Regularly interface with corporate executives, government and external affairs and other departments, business units, and non-profit community organizations to demonstrate the value of Corporate Relations by managing sponsorships, community and corporate events, the employee giving campaign, and other projects and promotions. Consult with senior management on corporate citizenship strategies, prepare and present reports on department activities.
Research current issues and trends in corporate citizenship and emulate and adapt “world-class” practices through benchmarking techniques. Develop strategies and techniques for conducting company and community assessments to establish giving priorities that meet community needs and support company’s business objectives.
Develop and monitor the budget to ensure the most effective use of company resources.
Manage the legal, tax and accounting activities of the Foundation to ensure compliance with IRS and other laws and regulations governing its operations. Manage and leverage tax credit programs benefitting non-profit, educational, and community partnerships. Acts as president of the Foundation Board and runs the grant making process including due diligence, form and process design. Develop and control Foundation’s budget, produce Foundation’s Annual Report and print communication materials describing the Foundation programs. Directs and coordinates the preparation of a range of reports necessary to fulfill compliance requirements.

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $158,400.00/Yr. – $217,800.00/Yr. plus an additional $50K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually
