Represents the facility to the community, interested persons, and potential referral sources within the identified market service areas. Directs the efforts of the Professional Relations Representatives and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the facility. Direct the development and continuous refinement of the facility's comprehensive business development plan, within the scope of the changing health care environment including directing, supervising, and evaluating the work activities of the Business Development Representatives. Develop and implement monthly, seasonal, and annual strategies, and evaluates results correspondingly, conferring with Senior Management, other Department Heads and staff members, as necessary. Regularly measures the facility's community image and advises the CEO of any development in the community or with referral sources that may have an impact on the facility. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of the business development performance against market constraints and changes and revises the business development plan as appropriate. Develops appropriate analysis and reporting mechanisms including MIS system and provides data and statistics as required. Works with the Director of Intake and is totally familiar with the admissions criteria of the programs at the facility to accurately represent the facility to referral sources. Maintain business development referral admission records and statistics, including the preparation of business development reports and materials. Target and create new strategies for increasing business in a highly competitive market. Maintain and develop key business development accounts and respond to all business development opportunities. Develop and implement community workshops and seminars, held at the facility or in the community. Implements and follows up of all promotional efforts relevant to any marketing plans including expenses for paid advertising, direct mail, personal sales efforts, and public relations as requested. Identifies new health education as they relate to mental health and chemical dependency issues which will meet a community need and/or enhance the community's awareness of existing programs and services. Maintains a close working relationship with the Medical Staff, the Board of Governors, Intake Director, Program Managers and other administrative personnel and external professional groups and agencies. Completes the month-end report, quarterly sales goals, seasonal plans, and competitive analysis and distributes to the CEO and appropriate staff in a timely manner. Responsible for presentations and participation in the Quarterly Business Development Meeting as requested by the CEO. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
