About The Position

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. Originally a cattle ranch, the land was purchased in 1943 as part of The Brown Schools and has operated as a medical rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare facility for over 60 years. Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain and spinal cord injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Texas NeuroRehab Center is internationally known for improving the quality of life for many children; adolescents and adults, and it will continue to provide innovative approaches to neurobehavioral healthcare. This candidate will make sure all referral sources, families and visitors have easy access to our services and are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve. Supervise Reception/Communications and Admissions. Supervise, plan, coordinate, and organize activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and personnel. Work closely with the Admissions Manager to ensure the admissions department is providing exceptional customer service, efficiently managing call volume and coverage and addressing any personnel issues.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated understanding of funding entities.
  • Competent computer skills and ability to use data base.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Able to supervise staff and provide advice as needed.
  • Able to evaluate staff against the criteria in their job descriptions.
  • Experience with data base programs.
  • Master's Degree.
  • LCSW
  • Five years’ experience in admissions or intake position is required, including two years supervisory experience.
  • A degree in a health care related field.
  • Vision, hearing, verbal communication ability (by phone and face-to-face), emotional stability, and dexterity sufficient to perform essential job functions and handle stress and changing priorities.
  • Requires repeated use of hands and fine motor skills to use computer and to manipulate papers.
  • Able to see and write legibly and grammatically correct.
  • Able to learn and complete computer activities.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time (to file and research inquiries).
  • Regular and expected attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in negotiations of contracts and agreements is preferred.
  • Experience in evaluating staff against the criteria in their job descriptions preferred.
