About The Position

The Dip Spin Coatings Operator operates and monitors the WMV Dip Spin Coatings line and inputs information into the computer system.

Requirements

  • Monitoring and assessing the performance of yourself, or other individuals to make improvements or support corrective actions.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

  • Self-Motivated
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Forklift license or the capacity to be certified to drive a forklift

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Experience working in a machine operator role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend the coating machine to coat metal products with the appropriate zinc solution to protect surfaces.
  • Operate forklift equipment.
  • Load materials into production equipment.
  • Observe gauges to ensure that the machine is operating properly.
  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and recognize and report major problems.
  • Mix substances to create chemical solutions.
  • Position containers to receive materials or workpieces.
  • Examine completed objects to determine the thickness of metal deposits or measure thicknesses using instruments such as micrometers.
  • Inspect coated or plated areas for defects, such as air bubbles or uneven coverage.
  • Record operational or production data.
  • Clean the production equipment.
  • Complete work orders using J&M’s production system
  • Train New Hires
  • The employer may require an employee to perform ‘other duties as assigned’ on a temporary and infrequent basis.
