About The Position

Boston College is seeking a Driver for a temporary position within its Dining Services. The primary responsibility of this role includes the correct receiving of all products delivered, as well as their proper storage, placement, and distribution. The Driver will be tasked with transporting pizza and other food and beverages to various locations on campus. Additionally, the role involves organizing and maintaining all storage areas in a sanitary and orderly manner, and ensuring the assembly and delivery of all required materials. General sanitation of products and areas, including storerooms, loading docks, vehicles, and laundry areas, is also part of the job description.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Knowledge and experience with food service supplies and equipment is desirable.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to repetitively lift heavy loads consistently.
• Good driving record required.
• Possession of a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
• Capability to drive up to a 25-foot fixed axle truck.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on an ongoing basis.
• Must be a team player, dependable, and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
• Availability to work late evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Receive and correctly store all products delivered.
• Drive pizza and other food and beverages to and from locations on campus.
• Organize and maintain all storage areas in a sanitary and orderly manner.
• Assemble and deliver all support service required materials as requested.
• Ensure general sanitation of storeroom areas, loading docks, vehicles, and other specified areas.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $26.48
• Flexible working hours up to 18 hours per week, including late evenings and weekends.
