About The Position

The Dining Supervisor (Evergreens) is responsible for leading, coaching and managing all the dining staff of the Brewster Dining program at Evergreens, including the Evergreens Grill and the Bean. The Dining Supervisor reports to the Director of Dining Services and works closely with members of the dining leadership team to ensure all residents and guests have opportunities for a quality meal each and every meal.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily dining operations to ensure quality, efficiency and profitability
  • Be present in dining room/kitchen for lunch and dinner meals Monday through Friday
  • Ensure all food and beverage items are prepared and served according to Brewster Place standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to meet demands while minimizing waste
  • Control quality of food; prepare nutritious, appetizing, and attractive meals, use leftovers in a time-safe and creative manner.
  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise front and back-of-house staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions with staff as needed
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork and excellent customer service
  • Maintain high standards of resident/guest satisfaction through attentive service and problem resolution
  • Handle resident/guest inquiries, complaints and feedback professionally and promptly
  • Monitor dining room to ensure residents/guests have a positive experience
  • Exercise judgment in monitoring menus in the Bean
  • Plan all food preparation following holiday guidelines as detailed in the menus and recipes
  • Cover any open shifts due to unexpected employee absences or scheduled PTO for the Evergreens Grill or the Bean. Serve as backup to any open positions as a working manager.
  • Participate in the weekly dining leadership team meetings and other Brewster Place leadership meetings as required.
  • Provide support to other dining management staff as needed.
  • Will be responsible for preparation of food catering orders.
  • Will work with Dining Supervisor (Redwood) who will be responsible for receiving catering orders and catering invoicing.
