The role involves overseeing dining services staff in the absence of the Manager and maintaining a pleasant and clean dining environment. The associate will assist the Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates, ensuring smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room, and that room service orders are delivered timely and properly. The associate will also be responsible for planning daily menus in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two years related experience.
  • Current ServSafe Certification required.
  • Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a quality dining experience by greeting and seating residents and guests.
  • Oversee dining services staff in the absence of the Manager.
  • Maintain a pleasant and clean dining environment.
  • Assist Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates.
  • Ensure smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room.
  • Ensure room service orders are delivered timely and properly.
  • Ensure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Inspect work to ensure completion.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.
  • Plan daily menu for residents in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift.
  • Work with Dining Room Manager to produce weekly schedules with budgetary guidelines for service staff.
  • Assist service staff during mealtime as needed.
  • Assist in greeting and seating residents and guests.
  • Assist in resident billing of food services charges.
  • Provide supervision for special events.
  • In consultation with the Director, Dining Services, hire, train, discipline, and terminate departmental employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-department personnel.
