About The Position

We have an opening for team oriented, full-time Dining Services Supervisor for our West Bloomfield Campus. Candidates must be self motivated and service oriented. The Dining Supervisor manages all aspects of meal time service and the overall efficiency of the Dining room, Cafes and Catering functions. Responsible for overall supervision of all Dining Room, Café Staff, Catering functions, including training, hiring, evaluating and disciplining. Ensures the efficiency of food services. Accepts the responsibility of proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen, dining areas, trash disposal areas, equipment, cookware, dishes, etc. Performs stock and utility tasks as directed. Accepts responsibility of wait staff, bussers, and host duties in their absence if needed. Working hours for this position will require open availability to night shifts, weekend shifts and holiday’s shifts.

Ability to supervise multiple dining rooms concurrently involving large number of employees while meeting regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintains the JSL Dining Services philosophy and vision.
Works alongside management staff, maintains effective note taking, retain distributed information.
Satisfies residents, guests and staff with services.
Works with management team in Supervising the overall efficiency of dining room.
Works with management team in supervising schedules, evaluates, trains, hires and disciplines all dining room staff.
Maintains effective communication with managers, supervisors, subordinates and all other coworkers.
Supervises organization and sanitation of dining rooms, kitchen, storage areas and loading dock.
Ensures proper portioning of foods, attractive plate presentation and serving required diets for meals, nourishment and snacks. Includes documentation of diet changes, nourishment and snacks. Also includes set up of special resident and staff functions.
Supervises opening and closing of food service operation.
Shows professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.
Performs any duty requested by Management to ensure the effective and efficient operation of Jewish Senior Life Dining Services Communities.
