About the position

The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for providing a quality dining experience by greeting and seating residents and guests, overseeing dining services staff in the absence of the Manager, and maintaining a pleasant and clean dining environment. The role includes assisting the Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates, ensuring smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room, and ensuring that meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance. The supervisor will also plan daily menus, assist in staffing coverage, and oversee staff during special events. This position requires a commitment to safety and sanitation standards and involves hiring, training, and managing departmental employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a quality dining experience by greeting and seating residents and guests.
  • Oversee dining services staff in the absence of the Manager.
  • Maintain a pleasant and clean dining environment.
  • Assist Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates.
  • Ensure smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room.
  • Ensure room service orders are delivered timely and properly.
  • Inspect work to ensure completion and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Plan daily menu for residents in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift.
  • Work with Dining Room Manager to produce weekly schedules.
  • Assist service staff during mealtime as needed.
  • Provide supervision for special events.
  • Hire, train, discipline, and terminate departmental employees in consultation with the Director, Dining Services.
  • Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-department personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two years related experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current ServSafe Certification required.
  • Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.
