Who You Are: We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as our Dining Room Supervisor. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent, but not necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Must have supervised a minimal staff of 5-10 people for at least one continuous year.
  • Must be familiar with styles of service (banquet, table-side, family style, etc.).
  • Must be trained as a Hostess and Server.
  • Must be familiar in scheduling, training, evaluating and interviewing of personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day functions of the dining venues at the commons, lounge, and all food related events.
  • Schedule staff and ensure staffing levels are sufficient for dining room and all events.
  • Maintain neat and orderly facilities.
  • Ensure staff are sufficiently trained in their position.
  • Keep accurate books and follow accounting procedures.
  • Strive to maintain high staff morale.
  • Handle customer complaints and criticisms in a positive, solution-oriented manner.
  • Ensure that dining rooms and events begin on schedule.
  • Greet all residents and guests professionally and courteously.
  • Be present in the dining room during hours of operation.
  • Fill in as host, server, expediter, or any other dining related position when needed.
  • Keep a daily log book of activities such as attendance, service situations, meal count, etc.
  • Evaluate all Servers, Hosts and Bartenders.
  • Ensure that proper standards of attire for staff are upheld.
  • Implement in-service training for all front house staff.
  • Responsible for upkeep of linens, skirts and banquet supplies.
  • Responsible for liquor orders and liquor inventory.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Promote and support decisions of the Executive Chef/Sous Chef.
  • Assist the Executive Chef/Sous Chef with regards to all responsibilities of special functions.
