Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Enrolled in High School or High School Diploma.
  • Previous experience in food service or customer service roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift trays or equipment as required.
  • Flexibility in working various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Take food and beverage orders, serve meals, and assist residents with menu choices.
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and provide prompt table service.
  • Clear tables, sanitize dining areas, and reset tables for the next meal.
  • Interact with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Provide personalized attention, catering to individual dietary requirements, and accommodating special requests.
  • Familiarize yourself with the daily menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and portion sizes.
  • Work closely with the dietary department to understand residents' specific dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team, kitchen staff, and other dining servers to ensure smooth operation of the dining services.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive dining environment by engaging in friendly conversations with residents.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of special events and themed meals within the senior living facility.
