About The Position

The Dining Room Manager is responsible for leading all front-of-house dining operations and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Working closely with the culinary team and supervising the Assistant Dining Room Manager, this role provides leadership, training, and direction to dining room staff while upholding Mountain Sky’s elite standards of hospitality, service, and organization. In the guest dining room, we serve buffet-style breakfast and lunch, followed by a multi-course, casual fine dining experience for dinner. The Dining Room Manager oversees daily service execution, staff scheduling and training, communication between the dining room and kitchen, and the overall cleanliness, organization, and atmosphere of both guest and staff dining spaces. The ideal candidate leads confidently by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering polished, professional service. Position runs from mid-April through the end of October.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all dining room operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality service at every meal
  • Supervise, train, and support the Assistant Dining Room Manager and dining room staff throughout the season
  • Train Guest Services staff rotating through the dining department on service standards, procedures, and expectations
  • Serve as primary point of contact between the dining room and kitchen, clearly communicating guest needs, dietary restrictions, and special requests
  • Create and manage dining room schedules and act as shift lead during meal service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
  • Address guest questions and concerns professionally and promptly, maintaining a welcoming and polished dining experience
  • Oversee organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of guest and staff dining rooms, ensuring all health and safety standards are met
  • Coordinate and lead weekly off-site “meal rides,” including planning logistics, packing food and equipment, setting up dining areas, serving guests, and breakdown
  • Monitor supplies and collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure food and service items are stocked and organized
  • Model professionalism, teamwork, and strong leadership, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
