About The Position

The Dining Room Liaison is responsible for general sanitation of dining facilities and kitchen, light food preparation and involvement in preparing, serving and clean up of meals. Responsible for order, storage and maintenance of food supplies. Able to work independently and covers for select responsibilities in absence of Director. Provides oversight and training to staff, handling projects and tours and/or resolving minor issues to assure daily functions run smoothly. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
  • Experience in food service and/or housekeeping preferred.
  • Experience and/or knowledgeable in needs of geriatric residents.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assignment schedule (including all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties).
  • Provides oversight for dating and discarding of all food and of temperature documentation.
  • Participates in and supervises kitchen and dining room cleaning and maintenance.
  • Aides in oversight for compliance with various resident diets and food preferences.
  • Interacts effectively with Director and is an effective liaison.
  • Updates Director on operation of facility, including resident/family issues and/or staffing concerns.
  • Is aware of and utilizes facility policies and procedures to meet all of the residents needs.
  • Assists in set-up, serving and clean up of resident meals.
  • Organizes and prepares resident meals, including trays to be served in room.
  • Is familiar with State, Federal and local regulations and aids in compliance.
  • Adequately provides report of pertinent information to and from communication book.
  • Tracks meal choice (request) changes, LOAs and guest trays for all meals and logs in communication book.
  • Provides oversight of charge book entries as indicated.
  • Assures that kitchen and storage areas are clean, organized and stocked.
  • Assists in training and supervision of staff and/or volunteers as assigned.
  • Helps to evaluate and extends appreciation as appropriate.
  • Acts as liaison to main dietary department; i.e. (storeroom, nutrition and resident cook); checks incoming supplies as per order; rotates and stores paper, fresh and dry goods.

  • Orders adequate counts of supplementary/fresh food items and kitchen cleaning supplies in a timely manner.
  • Checks on residents who do not attend a scheduled meal as per policy; and is alert to change in resident's condition.
  • Reports to Director and documents in communication log.
  • Distributes, collects and oversees menus for residents.
  • Updates tally sheets with personal choice changes in a timely manor.
  • Completes daily cleaning assignments; i.e. Removes items from shelves and cleans shelves/racks in kitchen and storage areas; Cleans serving carts and dish racks; Cleans and straightens and assures proper dating of food in all refrigerators.; Cleans coffee makers, juice machines, ice maker and assures scheduled maintenance with venders.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and/or reviews and signs minutes.
  • Implements facility medical emergency policy; Reports incidents, accidents and unsafe conditions and follows through with Director.
  • Works independently and effectively in absence of the Director; providing, oversight of staff and residents and assuring daily functions run smoothly.
  • Checks on residents when they do not arrive to attend a scheduled meal as per policy.
  • Implements facility medical emergency policy appropriately and competently when needed, provides oversight in absence of director.
  • Assists in welcoming all new residents.
  • Assures that they are aware and understand how to mark their menus.
  • Maintains daily census using excel spreadsheet.
  • Orders supplies in SupplyHawk.
  • Assists Director in completing regulatory documentation.
