About The Position

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a part-time Dining Room Helper. This position offers daytime hours that align with the school calendar, with summers off. Perfect for someone who values work-life balance and wants to contribute meaningfully while enjoying flexibility outside of traditional 9–5 schedules. The hours can either be Monday - Friday from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm, or Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, depending on the candidate's preference. The position begins on August 20th and ends on May 20th each year.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
• Ability to communicate politely and resolve customer service issues.
• Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Skilled at setting a good example for others.
• Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.

Nice To Haves

• Food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup, service, and cleanup at Ruth’s Marketplace, including meal plan service, dishwashing, and floor cleaning.
• Communicate effectively with the Production team to support a smooth and continuous flow of food preparation, sharing timely and relevant information related to batch cooking.
• Assist with product rotation, stocking, and inventory management.
• Maintain clean, organized coolers, freezers, and storerooms assigned to the front-of-house team.
• Follow all Dining Services Policies and Procedures and assist supervisors in ensuring all staff follow safety, sanitation, HACCP, and Wisconsin Food Code guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
