About The Position

Working closely with the Dining Room Manager, the Assistant Dining Room Manager helps ensure an exceptional dining experience for all guests by providing professional service and supporting the leadership and direction of the dining room staff. In the guest dining room, we serve buffet-style breakfast and lunch, then offer a multi-course, casual fine dining experience for dinner. Key duties include staff training, management of Guest Services staff as they rotate in and out of the dining department, communicating guest needs to the kitchen staff, and organizing and maintaining the guest and staff dining rooms. The ideal candidate leads by example, excels in fast-paced environments, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety. While related experience is preferred, this is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service to develop management skills. Position runs from mid April - end of October.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the training of Guest Services staff at the beginning of the season and throughout, covering all aspects of dining room service, organization, and operations.
  • Serve as shift lead for 2–3 staff members during each meal, ensuring the highest level of service.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to keep supplies and food items stocked and organized throughout the season.
  • Support the Dining Room Manager in addressing guest concerns and communicating special requests, dietary restrictions, and other important information to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensure guest and staff dining areas are consistently cleaned, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Act as shift leader for at least one weekly “meal ride,” including packing food and equipment, setting up the off-site dining area, welcoming and serving guests, and breaking down the space afterward.
