About The Position

The Dining Facility Attendant supports daily food service operations at Fort Benning by assisting with meal service, sanitation, and customer support. This role ensures a clean, safe, and efficient dining environment in accordance with contractual requirements, food safety standards, and installation policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior food service or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in institutional or high-volume dining environments is a plus.
  • Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food line setup, serving, and breakdown during meal periods.
  • Replenish food items and supplies as needed to support continuous service.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to all patrons.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, serving lines, kitchen spaces, and equipment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper use of PPE.
  • Support dishwashing, waste disposal, and cleaning schedules.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking supplies.
  • Support opening and closing procedures as directed by DFAC leadership.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or sanitation concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with food service staff and supervisors to meet operational demands.
  • Follow instructions and procedures to support efficient, mission-ready operations.
