Dimensional Inspector - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Dimensional Inspector performs dimensional and visual inspection of finished and in-process product. What You’ll Do: Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.). Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if discrepancies are found. Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if problems are found. Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Do not perform operation if ID is questionable. Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation. Follow department Standard Process Instructions. Use standard inspection equipment, gages, templates and the Comparator to inspect parts per approved methods. Document inspection results on approved inspection sheets. Complete Non-Conforming Material Reports for rejected parts. Train personnel in inspection criteria. Communicate with customer incoming inspection personnel.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of inspection of forgings, castings or machined parts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using standard measurement tools including Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gage, Optical Comparator is a plus
