About The Position

Waltonen Engineering is seeking a skilled Dimensional Engineer (VSA) to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience with Teamcenter® Visualization VSA, a powerful dimensional analysis tool used to simulate manufacturing and assembly processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Teamcenter® Visualization VSA and dimensional analysis is a must
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
  • Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and ability to interpret CMM data
  • Understanding of fundamental dimensional control principles (datum coordination, tolerance stacks, GD&T, slip planes, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), preferably Creo
  • Strong understanding of reverse engineering and digital twin technology preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to work overtime hours as required
  • Only United States Citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance

  • Strong understanding of reverse engineering and digital twin technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Teamcenter® Visualization VSA to perform Variation Simulation Analysis (VSA) and predict dimensional variations in military vehicle components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve dimensional issues
  • Optimize design and tolerances to improve product quality, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-market
  • Document and report findings, providing actionable insights to the engineering team
  • Coordinate with Program Manager, Designers, and Mechanic as required
