About the position

The Dimensional Control Lead at Oceaneering is responsible for ensuring precise measurements through advanced surveying techniques, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to complete dimensional control surveys efficiently. This role emphasizes adherence to Oceaneering's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality Management Programs, aiming for zero incidents and minimizing Costs of Poor Quality (COPQ) in survey operations. The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work and requires domestic and international travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys in project locations, ensuring precise measurements and alignment with project specifications.
  • Lead Dimensional Control (DC) activities within budget, including layout and as-built surveys.
  • Lead vessel calibration surveys and validate measurements against technical drawings and client requirements.
  • Validate and approve Dimensional Control and metrology results, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards during inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of all measurements, reports, and calibration logs.
  • Generate comprehensive inspection reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Recommend, evaluate, and adopt new Dimensional Control technologies.
  • Prepare survey drawings and reports using AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
  • Liaise with client representatives and provide guidance to Junior Dimensional Control team members.
  • Actively participate in Oceaneering's HSE and Quality Management Programs to promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Conduct job hazard assessments (JHAs) and implement safety controls on-site.

Requirements

  • A geomatics related two (2) year degree; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Three (3) years of Dimensional Control survey experience; Topographic backgrounds may also be considered.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with various forms of survey technology including Total Station and GNSS.
  • Proficient with survey calculations, AutoCAD, and MS Office business applications.
  • Ability to execute most Dimensional Control tasks including surveying, calculations, drawings, and related survey reports.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
