In this role, you will collaborate directly on the factory floor with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify inefficiencies and uncover opportunities for digitalization or automation. You will design, customize, and deploy user-centric digital applications in Mendix, integrating seamlessly with SQL databases and factory systems. Your responsibilities will also include implementing and optimizing Power BI data models and dashboards, transforming production data into actionable insights for both operations and management. Additionally, you will develop secure, reliable integrations between shop-floor equipment (including Siemens PLCs) and IT platforms using industry protocols (e.g., MQTT, NATS). You will rapidly prototype, test, and iterate digital tools, responding quickly to end-user feedback within manufacturing and production environments. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues onsite will be part of your duties, working closely with production teams to minimize disruption and maximize the adoption of solutions. You will collect and analyze factory data to identify trends and root causes, providing data-driven recommendations for process improvements. Writing clean, maintainable code and scripts for automation, reporting, and connectivity (Mendix, SQL, MQTT/NATS, PLCs) will be essential. Collaboration with OT/IT, controls, and automation teams will ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and ready for production deployment. You will also deliver training and hands-on support to operators and technicians adopting new digital tools and dashboards. Staying current with emerging digital manufacturing technologies and thoroughly documenting technical solutions, workflows, and lessons learned will be crucial for facilitating knowledge sharing and supporting future scalability of digital initiatives. Regular engagement with stakeholders, including operators, team leads, and supervisors, will help gather feedback and address operational challenges.
