About The Position

The Digital Workplace Architect is accountable for the design and success of the organization’s Microsoft 365 digital workplace, combining platform architecture with learning-driven adoption and enablement. This role ensures SharePoint and collaboration tools are structured, governed, and supported by effective learning strategies that drive adoption and consistent use. By aligning technology, knowledge systems, and user readiness, the Digital Workplace Architect enables employees to work efficiently while maintaining compliance and governance across regulated environments. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting, administering, or designing enterprise collaboration, knowledge management, or digital workplace systems.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a primary owner or lead for SharePoint Online or similar enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience developing information architecture, standards, and documentation to support enterprise systems.
  • A DoD 8140 - (451) Intermediate certification or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire to meet DoD data protection policies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in regulated or compliance-aware environments.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and obtain access to U.S. DoD sites and facilities, as applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing or supporting knowledge management or content governance programs in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience developing learning pathways, onboarding materials, or role-based training for technology platforms or business systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Forms) to support workflow improvement and user enablement.
  • Experience working in government, GovCon, or other regulated environments, including exposure to CMMC-aligned practices, audit readiness, or compliance support activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the architectural owner of the Microsoft 365 digital workplace, with primary responsibility for SharePoint Online and related collaboration and knowledge management.
  • Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint information architecture, including site structures, hubs, permissions models, and governance standards.
  • Establish and maintain digital workplace standards, best practices, and documentation to ensure consistency, usability, and long-term sustainability of enterprise collaboration and knowledge platforms.
  • Lead technology enablement and adoption efforts across digital workplace and business systems by developing learning materials, onboarding resources, and role-based guidance that support effective, compliant use of organizational tools.
  • Translate organizational workflows and business needs into usable, compliant digital workplace solutions.
  • Plan and support system enhancements, rollouts, and migrations, using adoption and usage insights to inform communication, training, and user readiness activities.
  • Partner with IT, Cybersecurity, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure digital workplace and business systems align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance and audit activities by maintaining clear documentation, access controls, and usage standards for collaboration and knowledge platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to leadership and internal teams on digital workplace architecture, governance, and adoption.
  • Overall health, usability, and adoption of the organization’s digital workplace, with primary accountability for SharePoint Online and enterprise collaboration and knowledge platforms.
  • Information architecture, standards, and documentation required to enable operational teams (e.g., Help Desk, IT Operations) to effectively support digital workplace systems.
  • Technology enablement and learning outcomes, ensuring users have clear guidance and resources to use enterprise systems consistently and correctly.
  • Operational readiness and change coordination for digital workplace enhancements, platform updates, and new capabilities.
  • Alignment of digital workplace solutions, applications, and data flows with organizational policies, information security standards, and DFARS/NIST 800-171/CMMC requirements.
  • Following CGS, LLC safety practices and workplace conduct standards.
  • Complying with CGS policies, procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
