About The Position

The Digital Transformation & Automation Manager is responsible for identifying, documenting, and enabling the automation of manual business processes across operations and support functions. This role works closely with operational teams to understand how work is performed today and partners with application developers to translate those processes into automation‑ready requirements. The role also plays a key part in change management and adoption, ensuring that new automated processes are clearly understood and successfully adopted by users.

Requirements

  • Experience in process documentation, business analysis, or operational improvement
  • Strong ability to document and explain end‑to-end workflows
  • Experience partnering with technical or development teams
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both frontline and leadership teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting digital transformation or automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with operational or field-based environments (transportation, logistics, or similar)
  • Transit operations experience is a strong plus, including exposure to operations, maintenance, safety, dispatch, or training environments
  • Experience supporting change management or user adoption efforts

Responsibilities

  • Identify manual, paper‑based, or inefficient workflows across operations and functional teams.
  • Lead process discovery sessions with frontline staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Document current‑state (“as‑is”) processes and define future‑state (“to‑be”) automation requirements.
  • Translate business processes into clear, complete requirements for development teams.
  • Ensure process documentation accurately reflects real‑world operations, including exceptions and handoffs.
  • Partner with application developers to clarify requirements and support solution delivery.
  • Act as the business process representative throughout development and testing.
  • Participate in user acceptance activities to validate solutions against documented processes.
  • Support refinement of requirements based on testing and operational feedback.
  • Support change management for assigned automation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain change artifacts such as process documentation, job aids, and user guidance.
  • Communicate process changes clearly to impacted teams.
  • Partner with operations and training teams to support rollout and adoption.
  • Gather post‑deployment feedback and recommend process or requirement updates as needed.
  • Maintain a repository of documented processes and automation candidates.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify or standardize processes prior to automation.
  • Support continuous improvement of automated workflows based on user feedback and operational outcomes.
