At Caterpillar, we are searching for a seasoned leader with in-depth experience in standing up and executing an enterprise-wide digital strategy. As the digital strategy manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Integrated Components Division (ICD) within Caterpillar. Integrated Components Division was formed as part of the caterpillar’s updated strategy to unlock value across the whole enterprise and E2E value chain. ICD is responsible for the design, development and manufacturing of wide range of components across a vast global footprint and is the key supplier of components that end up in the equipment and machinery manufactured and sold by Caterpillar. In this role, you will develop the core digital strategy for ICD and lead implementation of several strategic initiatives globally. As the leader, you will have to own the strategy, sell the vision, stand up a team, deploy resources and showcase measurable impact to ICD and Caterpillar. This is a high-profile role and will require a candidate with the EQ to engage with senior leaders and influence cross functional teams. You will also lead all Standardization efforts for reporting and data analytics, visualization of insights and metrics across the organization. This role will also give you the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies which still need to be validated by running proof of concepts (POC) and then scaling the successful POCs across the enterprise. Requirements

  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in strategic planning, operations, or business development . Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans with measurable results. Experience leading collaborative efforts across diverse teams.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; Proven ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans with measurable results. Experience leading collaborative efforts across diverse teams.
  • Decision Making: Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources, timelines, and budgets across multiple functions to drive cross-functional execution. Project management skills are essential for this role.
  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Strategy, or MBA.
  • Consulting experience preferably with focus on the digital strategy, enterprise strategy, strategy execution, automation or robotics
  • Experience leading digital related initiatives at an enterprise level
  • Experience in data analytics, BI, data visualization
  • Experience in digital twins, simulation, AI/ML, physical AI
  • A strong and specific point of view on how AI can transform a company such as Caterpillar
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams on roadmaps
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing teams
  • Experience in automation, lean and robotics

Responsibilities

  • Ownership: Own the digital strategy, develop the roadmap, create measurable impact across the organization
  • Drive Strategic Execution: Drive the vision for how to roll out the strategic roadmap to exceed 2030 targets and expectations and deliver measurable results
  • Develop tech stack: Define and role out the tech stack
  • Measure What Matters: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), develop intuitive dashboards, and deliver clear, data-driven updates to senior leadership.
  • Industry 5.0 / New & Emerging Technologies: Create the framework for industry 5.0 at Caterpillar and deploy new technologies that will help caterpillar leapfrog and become the industry benchmark
  • Stay Ahead of Risks: Monitor progress, anticipate challenges, and implement proactive solutions to keep initiatives on track and delivering results.
  • Optimize Resources: Support budget planning and resource allocation to ensure strategic programs are aligned with business goals and capital is used efficiently.
