About The Position

CACI is partnering with the University of Virginia to find an enthusiastic Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer. This role involves joining a passionate team developing next-generation signals intelligence (SIGINT) and state-of-the-art electronic warfare systems to support the counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) mission. The engineer will contribute to innovative, technology-centric solutions like CACI's SkyTracker® Technology Suite, which supports intelligence, defense, and other government missions.

Requirements

  • Expected graduation in Spring 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Enrolled in or completed some or all the following relevant coursework: ECE 4710 (Communications) ECE 4750 (Digital Signal Processing) ECE 6750 (Digital Signal Processing)
  • Experience processing signals using any signal processing software tool suite
  • Experience programming in Python, and C++
  • Linux software development experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communicating technical and analytical information in written products
  • Exposure to all phases of software development lifecycle (concept, design, implementation, test, and production).
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments centered around signal processing and software development
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Development of link budgets, range estimates, and system sensitivity assessments
  • Understanding of software defined radio systems: Receiver architectures Software channelization Modulation/demodulation techniques Spectral analysis
  • Experience with X-Midas in the development of RF transmission and receiver systems or software defined radios
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Docker
  • Experience with telemetry systems
  • Knowledge and experience of processing signals, including: Error correcting codes Digital video formats
  • Knowledge and experience with target tracking systems
  • Knowledge and experience performing machine learning techniques

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, integrate, and test signal processing algorithms and SIGINT software systems running on a variety of platforms supporting intelligence, defense, and other government missions.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test analytic signal processing software tools for DSP algorithms
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test software for Machine Learning applications.
  • Enhance and maintain existing X-Midas and M2Extra Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) signal processing tools.
  • Help define the requirements, CONOPs and architecture for future systems.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
