About The Position

We are seeking a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Intern for Summer 2026 at our Sarasota, FL location. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world problems while working closely with and receiving mentorship from a senior DSP engineer. Interns will contribute to a meaningful project aligned with MRSL’s mission and technical objectives, with strong support to help ensure your success. This role is well suited for students in the later stages of their undergraduate degree or those who have recently begun a master’s program, who are eager to deepen their practical DSP experience in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment. Path to Full-Time Employment This internship is intended to be a long-term investment . When the internship is successful and there is a strong mutual fit, the expectation is that the intern will transition into a full-time Digital Signal Processing role in MRSL’s Dayton, Ohio office following graduation. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with coursework or project experience in Digital Signal Processing, communications, or a closely related area
  • Familiarity with programming in one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or scripting languages
  • Basic working knowledge of Linux or willingness to learn
  • Strong curiosity, motivation, and a proactive approach to learning
  • Ability to think through technical problems and implement algorithmic solutions with guidance
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or exposure to any of the following is a plus, but not required: Machine learning tools or concepts (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Edge ML)
  • Data analysis or data science tools (e.g. Pandas, data normalization, clustering, regression)
  • Software engineering best practices (version control, testing, documentation)
  • Imaging science, signal or image processing, or classification techniques

Responsibilities

  • Work on a DSP-related project that addresses an existing technical challenge at MRSL
  • Apply signal processing concepts, algorithms and programming skills to real data
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and learn best practices in problem-solving and development
  • Ask questions, iterate on solutions, and grow your technical confidence through mentorship
