About the position
The Digital Sales Advisor at J.R. Simplot Company plays a crucial role in providing technical support to the SGS Crop Advisors and sales staff, focusing on maximizing the potential of Precision Agriculture. This position involves integrating IT advancements into the sales force, offering training in Ag Technology, and managing various mapping and analysis tasks to meet customer needs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to SGS Crop Advisors and support staff on Precision Ag Technology.
- Integrate IT advances into SGS sales force to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services.
- Train and administer the SmartFarm Platform, including scouting, trapping, and sampling activities.
- Generate prescription maps, field mapping, variable rate irrigation prescriptions, yield analysis, and boundary creation.
- Make recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis.
- Perform on-farm field trials, interpret satellite imagery, and collect and analyze yield information.
- Support variable rate applications for fertilizer and seed.
- Manage and translate irrigation sensor data.
- Maintain Precision Ag equipment and make recommendations to customers regarding equipment.
- Design and collect test plot data.
- Drive adoption of sales enablement tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university, preferably in agronomy or computer science.
- 5+ years of experience and/or training in a related field.
- Strong computer background and skills.
Nice-to-haves
- CCA certification preferred.
- Some agronomic experience.
