About The Position

The Digital Reporter serves as an officer of the court, responsible for audio capture and preservation of verbatim records in legal proceedings. This full-time role involves using digital recording technology to ensure high-quality documentation of depositions and other juridical events, while also providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional relationships within the legal community.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with digital audio/video recording technology.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift priorities as needed.
  • Possess problem-solving abilities to resolve challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take direction from multiple supervisors.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work at Esquire office when not assigned to a job.
  • Commitment to Company objectives and ability to pass a national criminal background check.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Follow IT's technical requirements for digital recording and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a legal secretary/administrator, paralegal, legal videographer, or legal transcriptionist preferred.
  • Associate's Degree in legal studies, communications, audio/visual technology, performance art, or military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow AAERT's and Esquire's best practices for digital reporting and recording.
  • Prepare for job assignments by building worksheets and reviewing case information.
  • Set up hardware for proceedings and ensure functionality before commencement.
  • Produce quality audio/video recordings of proceedings.
  • Maintain control of the proceedings as an independent authority.
  • Create detailed annotations of essential testimony for review and transcription.
  • Provide playback of testimony and marking of exhibits when requested.
  • Secure all exhibits and perform proper backup of all files after proceedings.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks of all hardware and follow security requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain required reports and logs, responding to communications in a timely manner.
  • Organize work effectively and prioritize assignments while remaining flexible.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while working independently and in an office environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
