About The Position

The Quality Engineering Leader is responsible for defining, governing, and scaling quality engineering capabilities across Owens Corning’s digital product landscape. This role operates within an embedded quality assurance (QA) delivery model that is firmly supported by centralized standards and best practices, guaranteeing quality is integrated into every phase of product development. By championing a proactive approach to quality, this role ensures that issues are identified and addressed early, resulting in more robust and reliable digital solutions. Leading multi‑discipline quality teams, including manual QA, automation, and SDET/Test Engineering, the leader fosters a collaborative and high-performing environment. These teams work in close partnership with Engineering, Product, and DevOps leaders to deliver predictable, high‑confidence outcomes that meet both technical and business requirements. The role is instrumental in navigating complex challenges, aligning quality objectives with enterprise goals, and ensuring that testing processes adapt to evolving technological landscapes. This position focuses on web applications, web pages, APIs, and mobile solutions. Responsibilities include building a scalable foundation that supports current and future business needs, including embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT) quality. This role involves developing strong partnerships throughout the organization, including Engineering, Product, DevOps, and business teams, to ensure quality outcomes are aligned with enterprise objectives. By staying ahead of industry trends and integrating outside-in market insights, the leader contributes to the continuous improvement of enterprise quality capability, positioning Owens Corning as a leader in digital excellence. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in relevant field, computer science, management information systems; or equivalent experience
5+ years leading QA teams (multiple direct reports and/or contractors), with the ability to successfully lead projects and leaders across regions and third parties
10+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering across manual and automated practices
Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience with stakeholder management and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Experience operating within Agile delivery models with embedded QA resources.
Possesses a combination of application development, IT strategy and relationship management experience that demonstrates an ability to both conceive and deliver solutions
Working knowledge of quality engineering principles and best practices
Proven ability to foster effective collaboration within culturally and geographically diverse quality engineering and test automation teams
Demonstrates a strong grasp of emerging IT trends and contemporary technologies as they relate to quality engineering
Experienced in managing, directing, and influencing budgets dedicated to quality engineering initiatives and test automation frameworks
Skilled at communicating complex QA strategies clearly and confidently across all organizational levels, ensuring alignment with broader technology and business goals
Identifies and drives improvements in QA and test automation processes by building strong partnerships with business and technical stakeholders to enable impactful change
Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams, leading complex quality engineering projects/programs, and delivering outstanding results in global, culturally diverse environments
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating technical quality engineering concepts and test automation solutions to non-technical stakeholders
Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture in software quality, develop effective test strategies, and create actionable plans for test automation execution
Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle from a quality engineering and test automation perspective
Comprehensive understanding of digital technologies and their application in enhancing software quality to meet user and business needs
Proven success in building trusted, value-added relationships within technology and business functions to effectively align quality engineering objectives and outcomes
Experienced in managing a portfolio of simultaneous quality engineering and test automation projects, utilizing standard methodologies, tools, and project management solutions
Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required and estimated 10-15%

Responsibilities

Build strong partnerships with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and business stakeholders to align quality outcomes with enterprise objectives.
Understand Owens Corning’s business strategies and how digital platforms enable growth and customer value.
Apply outside‑in market insights and best‑in‑class quality practices to continuously improve enterprise quality capability.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific business processes and operations locally and globally
Define and execute the enterprise Quality Engineering strategy aligned to an embedded QA operating model with centralized standards.
Establish and govern standards for test strategy, automation, coverage models, quality gates, and risk‑based testing.
Ensure quality practices scale across sprint teams without creating delivery bottlenecks.
Evolve quality engineering capabilities to support future embedded and IoT domains.
Set strategic direction for automation across web, API, and mobile layers.
Ensure automation delivers fast, reliable, and actionable feedback within CI/CD pipelines.
Improve automation maintainability, reduce false negatives, and optimize return on investment (ROI).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department and cross-functionally; encourage others to identify areas of waste (process, time, etc.); ideate and execute action plans to create productivity
Create an inclusive environment where the team looks at you as a highly regarded leader and mentor
Define and operate a release readiness framework that supports informed, data‑driven decisions,
