We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator on our B-shift crew, working 12-hour shifts Monday - Wednesday from 5 PM - 5 AM, and every other Sunday as needed based on workload. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality paper-based printed materials. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise and attention to detail. Previous experience with digital printing equipment or experience in the printing industry is a plus. The schedule for this full-time position is: · B-Shift: Monday-- Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (12-hour shifts) + every other Sunday if needed Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with sound attention to detail. As a printing press operator, you will read and understand job ticket instructions and all forms of written instructions to perform duties that will ensure a quality product produced in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Print Operator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of printing processes, including color management, prepress, and layout design.
  • Proficiency in operating: HP; Indigo; Canon; Bindery/Book Binding Equipment.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) necessary.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with digital printing equipment or experience in the printing industry is a plus.
  • Three to six months related work experience or prior experience operating other printing-related equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate printing presses and other printing equipment.
  • Adjust machine settings and monitor print jobs to ensure quality and consistency to achieve desired results.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the printing process.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and prepress technicians to ensure accurate reproduction of work.
  • Read, understand and follow all information given on job ticket.
  • Maintain inventory of printing supplies and order replacements as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Responsible for workflow, job scheduling, and quality assurance on press equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem solving for a variety of sheet-fed and roll-fed equipment both color and black & white.
