About The Position

We utilize state-of-the-art, complex and technologically advanced digital printing equipment to personalized giftware. The Digital Print Maintenance Assistant Supervisor supports a well-maintained production environment by ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, and repairs on print and finishing equipment across our production facilities. This role involves conducting break/fix repairs and preventative maintenance tasks for equipment to be prepared to run 24/7 during peak production schedules. The Digital Print Maintenance Assistant Supervisor will also work closely with outside vendors to maintain equipment performance standards, manage parts inventory, and waste disposal. The Digital Print Maintenance Assistant Supervisor also develops and uupdates equipment maintenance procedures, collaborates, guides and certifies in-house technicians along with providing training to production staff on best practices, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Digital Print Maintenance Assistant Supervisor will also be responsible for completing any additional equipment certifications and staying current on industry advancements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field preferred or relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years in printing environment, performing maintenance and break/fix repairs in the following areas
  • UV Flatbed printers (e.g. Vutek, Mimaki, CET, Durst)
  • Dye sublimation inkjet printers (e.g. Reggiani, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland)
  • Latex and UV based inkjet printers (e.g. HP, Canon, Mimaki, Ricoh)
  • Digital presses (e.g. HP, Canon, Konica Minolta, Xerox)
  • Experience utilizing printing software such as Onyx and Fiery
  • Computer literate is a must to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent time management, communication skills, high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with outside service technicians and remote technical support.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to stand, move, walk, bend, crouch, reach, kneel, sit, pull, lift 50+ lbs. for prolong periods of time.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation and valid driver license.
  • Must be flexible to work shift schedule changes (During our Peak times extended hours, Nights and Weekends are required).
  • During the holiday season, time off is limited.

Nice To Haves

  • Service Technician certifications on break/fix preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts break /fix repairs and preventative maintenance on schedule routines on printing and finishing equipment per internal service request.
  • Ensures that service tickets are properly updated and submitted with detailed information for record keeping and cost-tracking purposes.
  • Ensure that equipment downtime is minimal when preventative maintenance is being carried out so that the organization is not greatly affected.
  • Works with vendors on equipment service calls, managing inventory parts (receiving and returning), and proper ink waste disposal.
  • Ensure that all equipment documentation is kept up to date, which includes equipment Service Manual, Operator Guides and internally developed equipment SOPs for departments.
  • Effectively engages and collaborates with department staff, team members, and external vendors in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines for technicians and production staff along with providing guidance on efficient repair practices to fellow technicians.
  • Commute between our two production facilities to service equipment.
  • Complete all required equipment certifications as determined by the manager to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Stays relevant in all research and advancements regarding printing and finishing equipment.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
