Digital Merchandiser (AU)

RuggableLos Angeles, CA
8h$90,000 - $110,000Hybrid

About The Position

We are seeking an execution-oriented, aesthetically-minded, and highly organized Digital Merchandiser to drive the merchandising strategy for our Australia storefront. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising, you will serve as a key architect of the Ruggable digital experience, ensuring our product catalog is presented with precision, relevance, and commercial intent. Success in this role means moving beyond "site maintenance" to proactive optimization. You are a curious self-starter and a natural dot-connector who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will partner very closely with the North America (NA) Digital Merchandiser and the Catalog Specialist to ensure global consistency and data integrity. Working in lockstep with the broader Digital, Creative Operations, and Storefront teams, you will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle on-site. You must possess a refined eye for detail and a "site perfectionist" mindset to ensure every user journey is brand-consistent, frictionless, and aesthetically superior.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in site merchandising or digital commerce (D2C/Apparel/Home décor preferred).
  • Data-Driven Execution: You understand how a robust product data feed underpins the front-end (FE) of the site; you are quick to identify and resolve data gaps, knowing that high-quality data is the engine that powers the entire customer shopping journey.
  • Tool Stack Mastery: Hands-on experience with Shopify and Constructor (or similar search/merchandising tools).
  • Project Management Power-User: Proficiency in Airtable and Asana is required; exposure to Confluence and JIRA is a significant plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: A strong understanding of the relationship between site presentation and core metrics like CVR, AOV, and revenue.
  • High Taste Level: A discerning eye for brand elevation and the ability to ensure copy and imagery are featured to the highest standards.
  • Soft Skills: You are a self-starter who doesn't wait for a roadmap; you are curious about why customers buy and a dot-connector who sees the link between creative assets, backend data, and commercial results.

Nice To Haves

  • Global Mindset: Experience managing or supporting international storefronts (specifically AU/NZ markets).
  • Testing Curiosity: Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and a desire to experiment with different merchandising layouts to drive performance.
  • Visual POV: Experience collaborating with studio teams to produce high-performing imagery.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Site Excellence: Own the consistent, daily maintenance of the online store within Shopify, including categorization, imagery, badging, and size/fit information to ensure a "zero-defect" storefront.
  • PLP Library Stewardship: Uphold the structural integrity of the Product Listing Page (PLP) library; ensure all collection pages are optimized, aesthetically elevated, and curated to deliver the best possible consumer experience.
  • Search & Discovery: Leverage Constructor to manage the search and filtering experience, executing high-performing product cross-sell carousels that strategically drive AOV.
  • Navigation Management: Execute and audit navigation updates within the CMS to ensure product discovery is frictionless across the entire Australia storefront.
  • Product Launch Readiness: Lead seasonal product data preparation, including defining attributes and gathering key product info; proof data to flag errors and ensure a "zero-defect" front-end experience ahead of launch dates.
  • Active Site Trading: Own assigned categories by utilizing site metrics (CVR, AOV, AUR, and sell-through) to guide merchandising focus and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Catalog Quality & QA: Partner with the Catalog Specialist to ensure total data integrity; serve as the primary auditor for the front-end catalog, leveraging site feeds to identify misses, resolve data inconsistencies, and perform rigorous quality assurance.
  • Unified Execution: Meet with Merchandisers and Content authors regularly to align on seasonal execution and attend category go-to-market meetings.
  • UX/UI & Creative Alignment: Work alongside the UX/UI and Creative Marketing teams to ensure brand campaigns are translated perfectly to the site while maintaining the highest visual standards.
  • Rigorous Site QA: Establish a "zero-defect" standard for your assigned categories, proactively identifying site bugs and tracking merchandising tickets through to resolution.
  • Workflow Mastery: Expertly utilize Airtable to manage complex DTC calendars and cross-functional task lists; you are a disciplined "dot-connector" ensuring that nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Playbook Adherence & Evolution: Follow and uphold established merchandising processes with a "site-perfectionist" mindset, while proactively identifying opportunities to update the merchandising playbook as the global business scales.
  • Assortment Partnership: Work in lockstep with Product Merchandising and Planning to pivot site presentation in real-time based on assortment changes and product launch/sunset dates.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as a proactive communicator across Creative Operations and the Storefront team, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on project status and launch-day readiness.
