The Opportunity We’re looking for a UX Design Intern to join our Design Team for a dual-season residency. At CME Group, we sit at the intersection of global finance and digital innovation. We don't just “make websites” — we build the interfaces that keep the global economy moving. As part of the Marketing Department’s Design Team, you won't just be watching from the sidelines. You’ll be a vital partner in evolving our global design system, ensuring our digital platforms are as intuitive as they are impactful. What we’ll build together The system: Help us maintain and scale our global design system. You’ll ensure our visual language stays consistent, accessible, and elegant across every touchpoint. The future: We’re obsessed with how AI can make us better designers. You’ll spend time researching and experimenting with AI-driven tools to streamline our workflows and level up our user experience. The details: From high-fidelity prototyping in Figma to auditing components for WCAG accessibility, you’ll apply systems-thinking to solve complex navigation and layout puzzles. The bridge: You’ll collaborate closely with both designers and developers, learning how to translate creative vision into functional, code-ready reality. Who You Are A systems thinker: You don't just design a web page; you map out a journey. You see how a single navigation pattern or data visualization tool ripples across an entire digital ecosystem. Figma fluent: You’re comfortable with components, variables, auto-layout, and prototyping. Tech-curious: You’re already playing with emerging tech and wondering how it can change the design landscape. A clear communicator: You’re ready to ask "why," share your perspective, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Design-driven: You have a strong grasp of typography, grids, and the "why" behind your design choices.
