The Digital Learning Design & Instructional GenAI Manager at Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is responsible for managing the digital learning vision within the Office of Teaching and Learning. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and execute the district's instructional generative AI strategy, ensuring universal access to high-quality curriculum and assessments. The manager will lead the design and maintenance of the Digital Learning Environment, focusing on accessibility, user experience, and continuous improvement, while also engaging with stakeholders to stay updated on trends in instructional technology.

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the district's Digital Learning Environment (DLE).
  • Oversee protocols and policies for DLE design.
  • Manage the development of roadmaps, use cases, and workflows for key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain testing plans and implementation project plans for the DLE.
  • Establish continuous improvement processes for the DLE.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback on DLE design.
  • Ensure DLE partners adhere to standards for integration and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Enterprise GenAI to align with district protocols.
  • Develop a 5-year instructional GenAI roadmap.
  • Engage with instructional leaders to incorporate generative AI into practices.
  • Guide external vendors in implementing the instructional GenAI strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in educational and/or instructional technology.
  • Experience in Digital Learning, Educational Technology, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, or Artificial Intelligence in an educational setting.
  • Deep understanding of Universal Design for Learning, accessibility, and UX/UI design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications in systems interoperability, responsible AI, and GenAI Applications.
  • Experience leading digital learning systems and AI Pilot design.
  • Competitive salary range of $76,000 - $100,500 per year.
