The position involves providing excellent library service and answering scientific and technical research requests. The role requires maintaining institutional repositories and supporting the academic community through various library services.

  • Collecting and uploading the scholarly output of Kettering University into the Institutional Repository.
  • Creating and maintaining the Faculty Profiles to showcase research.
  • Providing research assistance and information and digital literacy instruction in-person and online for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Liaising with academic departments and creating and maintaining research LibGuides.
  • American Library Association-accredited Master's degree in library or information science and 1 to 3 years of professional library experience.
  • Experience with providing reference and information services in person and online.
  • Conducting information and digital literacy instruction for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience in maintaining an institutional repository and understanding of copyright law in relation to scholarly communication and electronic resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with information technology, including research databases, LibGuides, discovery systems, integrated library systems, institutional repository systems, and learning management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and to work independently as well as in a team environment where consultation, collaboration, and cooperation are essential.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Participation in major campus special events, such as commencement.
  • Skilled in providing excellent library service and answering scientific and technical research requests.
  • Experience with maintaining institutional repositories.
