About The Position

Part-Time Digital Design Yearbook Teacher (4 hours a week) American Heritage School is a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Digital Design Yearbook Teacher to join our middle school faculty. This position combines classroom instruction with marketing and communications responsibilities and offers the opportunity to teach practical, creative, and real-world skills in a faith-based educational environment. Nature of the Role This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to academic instruction, teachers are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Qualifications A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, with preference given to candidates who hold a degree in marketing, or digital design or a related field. Candidates also need a commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Experience working with youth is preferred, particularly in a formal middle school setting. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional proficiency of digital tools and publishing platforms, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Successful candidates will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, strong communication and interpersonal skills, professionalism, technical proficiency, and a willingness to learn and grow. Teaching Responsibilities This position includes teaching the Digital Design and Publishing course, which meets four hours per week. This course oversees the production of the middle school yearbook and supports publicity and promotional content for middle school events throughout the school year. Some of the responsibilities for this job include teaching and putting together a middle school yearbook, teaching digital design and publishing. Candidates must demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning, and a desire to work in an educational atmosphere aligned with the values and teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A strong understanding of the LDS faith and a willingness to incorporate those values into teaching, mentorship, and professional conduct are required. Faith and Mission Responsibilities In addition to academic responsibilities, teachers at AHS are expected to integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction where appropriate, serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students, support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues, participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities, and respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission. Professional Expectations Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose. Communication and Organization Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics, maintain purposeful and effective classroom routines, communicate with parents and colleagues in ways that are timely, collaborative, precise, and positive, and monitor and report student progress clearly and consistently.
