About The Position

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Digital Dentistry Lab Coordinator to support the college’s clinical, educational, and research missions through independent operational management, research collaboration, and instructional delivery. This role manages and coordinates digital dental laboratory operations while actively supporting the exploration and advancement of emerging dental manufacturing technologies. Operating within a rapidly evolving field, the coordinator independently analyzes new materials, fabrication methods, and digital techniques that extend beyond formal training or established laboratory protocols. Through applied research, technical evaluation, and experimental workflow development, the position contributes to the advancement of digital dentistry practices within the academic environment. The coordinator evaluates feasibility, safety, and performance of emerging technologies and techniques, helping translate research concepts into practical laboratory applications that support faculty research initiatives, student scholarship, and clinical innovation. The role includes analyzing, planning and optimizing laboratory spaces, evaluating equipment infrastructure, and recommending instrumentation and manufacturing systems that support evolving research and clinical needs. The coordinator partners closely with IT, Building Services, faculty researchers, students, external vendors, and clinical teams to ensure laboratory environments remain technologically current and capable of supporting experimental workflows, pilot testing, and new technique development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of relevant experience required

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience as a dental laboratory technician with experience in digital technology and material requirements.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM systems and digital workflows.
  • Strong and independent analytic, coordination, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Completion of an accredited dental laboratory technology program.
  • Certified Dental Technician (CDT).
