About The Position

Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit (DCU), part of Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA), leads the global fight against cybercrime to protect customers and strengthen trust in Microsoft. We combat global cyber threats through the innovative use of technology, civil litigation, criminal referrals, and strategic public-private partnerships—all while safeguarding customer security and privacy. Leveraging advanced analytics and AI, we identify, investigate, and dismantle sophisticated cybercriminal networks to disrupt their operations and protect the digital ecosystem. The DCU Technical Program Manager (TPM) role will lead and coordinate the execution of the DCU’s highest-priority fraud initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, OKRs and timely delivery of impactful outcomes. This role is responsible for orchestrating cross-team collaboration, managing project plans, and proactively removing barriers to accelerate progress on fraud-related initiatives. The TPM will also play a key role in shaping and communicating compelling narratives that highlight the DCU’s impact on combating fraud, with an eye towards building trust with fraud-focused stakeholders and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with fraud detection, prevention, or investigations preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or equivalent for tracking work items and managing workflows.
  • Experience building dashboards and writing queries using Kusto Query Language (KQL) for data visualization and operational insights.
  • Experience collaborating with legal teams or law enforcement on cybercrime or fraud-related initiatives.
  • Proficiency in ADO or similar Project Management tools for agile planning, backlog management, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Python to manage, process, and query complex datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and drive the execution of DCU’s prioritized fraud initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and progress tracking across workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, dashboards, and visualizations to monitor initiative status, risks, dependencies, and represent the DCU fraud story.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins and collaboration with initiative owners and stakeholders to identify challenges, escalate issues, ensure alignment on goals and deliverables, and communicate progress, outcomes, and impact to DCU leadership and broader stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure prioritized initiatives are resourced appropriately, aligned with Microsoft’s data privacy standards, and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactively identify, develop and maintain impactful dashboards, reports, visualizations, and self-service platforms for on-demand access to fraud-related insights and content, leveraging innovative solutions and best practices.
  • Leverage data and insights to inform prioritization, measure success, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and use technical expertise to pull and explore data, test hypotheses, and spot issues, gaps, or inconsistencies.
  • Support the adoption of Copilot/AI and other innovative tools to streamline workflows and enhance effectiveness, where appropriate.
