Your Team: The Office of Communications oversees all public relations for the agency and is responsible for crafting a proactive strategy to promote agency initiatives, programs, and accomplishments to the media, our partners, our staff and the public. The division manages all interactions with the press, social media channels, the agency’s website, internal communications, as well as digital and print materials. The Office of Communications is composed of 3 divisions: - Press - Digital - Creative Services Your Impact: As HPD’s Digital and Creative Communications Coordinator, you’ll be at the center of how the agency communicates with New Yorkers. You’ll use video, social media, and other digital platforms to highlight our programs, promote housing initiatives, and strengthen community engagement. Your work will directly shape how the public understands HPD’s efforts to create and preserve affordable housing, making this role essential to building trust and momentum around the City’s housing goals. By transforming complex policies into compelling, accessible stories, you’ll help New Yorkers see the real impact of HPD’s work in their communities and why it matters in tackling the housing crisis. Your Role: In this role, you’ll be both a storyteller and a strategist producing creative digital content that brings HPD’s work to life. You’ll lead with video production while managing the agency’s social media presence, updating the website, and driving innovative campaigns that capture public attention. You’ll work closely with colleagues across HPD and external partners, making sure our communications reflect the urgency, creativity, and impact of our mission. By combining sharp digital instincts with strong collaboration skills, you’ll help HPD not only inform the public but inspire action around the City’s housing future. They will report to the Assistant Commissioner of Communications and collaborate closely with every member of the communications team as well as the agency’s senior leadership. The work is often time sensitive and often requires work outside business hours.
