The FOX 35 Internship Program is designed to provide real-world experience and training on what it takes to be a digital journalist and content producer in an evolving 21st-century newsroom. This immersive role allows you to understand the full spectrum of news gathering, fact-checking, and news judgment. You will learn how to gather content—including stories, videos, and galleries—and optimize it for various digital platforms, including mobile web, apps, social media, and Connected TV (FOX Local). During this 10-week program, you will gain high-level insights into the mechanics of a top-tier news operation: Newsroom Operations: Understand how a legitimate newsroom finds stories, confirms information, and decides which narratives to pursue each day. Multi-Platform Distribution: See firsthand how a newsroom works together to distribute information across TV, news apps, streaming, and social media. The Art of the Pitch: Learn how to properly pitch and vet a story by focusing on the idea, impact, characters, and delivery. Investigative Techniques: Learn how to search federal and court records, submit public records requests, and verify information through official spokespersons. Digital Craftsmanship: Master how to confirm, write, and deliver news specifically for digital audiences, including the creation of SEO headlines and subheads. Optimization Strategies: Understand how to optimize news articles and videos for social media, YouTube, mobile apps, and streaming platforms. Leadership: Develop the foundational skills necessary to be the next great digital content producer, journalist, and leader.
