About The Position

Summary: The Digital Content Developer supports the Health Plan’s digital initiatives/lifecycle management work and business goals by creating best-in-class digital user experiences for our customers. This role is responsible for the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of digital content across our corporate websites and apps. They act as consultants with our internal customers and stakeholders and serve as experts within their assigned portal. This position will develop, implement, and maintain web templates and application systems by working closely with content owners throughout the organization. Qualities for success include the ability to navigate complex tasks without supervision, prioritize competing needs of business and products, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Level I: Acts as subject matter expert for the web content management and portal systems. Consults with the internal customers providing a best-in-class experience. Identifies instances when a fast track request is needed and assists with expedited process and escalation as required. Leads and manages the lifecycle management of corporate websites, including organizing and publishing of web content, documents, and media. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver annual updates for Commercial Open Enrollment and Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, as well as other mandatory or compliance-based web updates. Works with Digital Content Manager to maintain sitemaps and content inventories for all corporate websites, including business owners and key audit dates/information. Works closely with business partners and customers to understand business requirements and fulfill service requests for all updates to web content. Writes training documentation and trains business customers on how to update websites using the web content management and intranet publishing systems. Performs quality assurance testing on all content changes to ensure they meet both requestor needs and experience guidelines. Optimizes or reformats documents, graphics, videos, and other multimedia content before publishing on websites. Implements best practice tagging solutions for Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Accessibility (WCAG/508) and Web Analytics. Works collaboratively with Front-End Developers to define standards for content creation and updates within themes, templates, and publishing workflows. Stays current with new technologies, capabilities, and trends in web content management to ensure industry best practices. Collaborates with others to create and maintain information architecture, sitemap, and directory structure documentation. Organizes information and functionality into written specifications that define end solutions. Defines standards and develops and customizes themes/templates for use in building user interfaces. Performs unit testing, peer design reviews and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency. Provides on-call support for urgent and important events outside of core business hours. Reviews analytic reports and makes recommendations for site improvements. Monitors ‘Best in Class’ and competitive web sites to benchmark improvement ideas, focusing on site usability, accessibility, and functionality. Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs. Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures. Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. Performs other functions as assigned by management. Level II (in addition to Level I essential responsibilities/accountabilities): Participates in intake process and helps to prioritize requests. Interacts regularly with business partners at Director/VP level, presenting recommendations and statuses. Leads periodic reviews of websites to ensure pages and content are functioning properly; works with Digital Content Manager to update inventory and site map based on reviews. Instrumental in advancing the lifecycle management process of the websites. Creates documentation to educate users/stakeholders and external constituents. Ability to represent the company in external constituent and internal stakeholder forums internal. Level III (in addition to Level II essential responsibilities/accountabilities): Acts as team lead for Digital Content Developers, ensuring work is appropriately resourced. Leads intake process for content requests by creating a prioritization process that can be applied to all content requests. Collaborates closely with Digital Content Manager on ensuring standards and processes for digital inventory and audit are applied throughout team and organization. Coordinates with Front-End Developer Team Lead on bandwidth/availability of the Front-End team to support content requests; makes resource recommendations where appropriate. Act as team content management system expert and provide education and training to Digital Content Development team. Collaborates with the UX Design team and reviews designs prior to stakeholder presentations to ensure they work within our current templates.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of web/digital content management, user interface development or related experience required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design, New Media, Digital Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Working knowledge of web content management systems (IBM WebSphere Portal, LifeRay, Drupal, etc), web development editors (Sublime Text, WebStorm, etc), graphic editing programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), XML, eForms, FTP, source code control systems, HTTP/S protocols, and web development debugging tools.
  • Ability to write clear, concise code according to industry standards, supporting cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility.
  • Strong understanding of web design best practices, user centered design methods, web accessibility, browser compatibility, and usability standards for various audiences and industries.
  • Strong understanding of web performance, web analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in web/digital content management or user interface development or related experience.
  • Expert understanding of web design best practices, user centered design methods, web accessibility, browser compatibility, and usability standards for various audiences and industries, as well as web performance, web analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in web/digital content management or user interface development or related experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Liferay DXP strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing teams preferred.
