BD Interventional Surgery worldwide business unit, located in Rhode Island, is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies. The Sophisticated Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) Platform is the industry leader in hernia repair. This intern will be focused on marketing critical initiatives and provide support to members of the Digital Marketing team responsible for supporting the hernia portfolio strategy and completing strategies to achieve commercial excellence. As the Digital Content and Social Media Marketing Intern, you will help to shape what the digital initiatives at BD look like - especially as it comes to social media, digital campaigns, and more. You will develop a deep understanding of marketing strategy, digital standard processes, and campaign execution, while also growing your writing skills and developing independent projects you can add to your portfolio. This role will have the opportunity to work on both patient education and product content under the support of an award-winning team. The ideal candidate for this position is highly motivated to grow within the organization in the future, thrives in an environment of creativity and accountability, and can perform at a high level across a wide array of assignments. Requirements

  • Business major or other applicable undergrad or masters level program (ex. MBA) with an interest or focus in marketing.
  • Strong curiosity about digital marketing specialty.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Hard-working attitude towards learning and implementing digital initiatives.
  • Ability to work proactively and be self-motivated.
  • Fast learning capabilities with the intent of working independently on tasks.
  • Comfortability presenting and sharing new insights to impact the business.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Effectively work cross-functionally and network within the business.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment of accountability.
  • Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 writing samples in the form of blogs, social media posts, or other relevant writing examples.

Responsibilities

  • Support digital marketing initiatives, campaigns, and projects under the mentorship of the digital marketing team members.
  • Assist in the advertising and promotion (AdProm) content approval process.
  • Strategy and execution of social media content and engagement management.
  • Handle content calendars (blog, social media, email, etc.) and assist in the strategy and writing of content.
  • Develop deliverables such as campaign briefs, meeting prep, cases, PPT decks for leadership, and more.
  • Work within project management software to assist execution and tactical strategies, supply to project management charts and forward planning.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for relevant digital marketing impact.
  • Develop an understanding of both the patient and product AR&R portfolio, dedicated to the hernia transformation strategy and its competitive landscape.
  • Assist with additional digital marketing responsibilities, including reporting and analytics dashboards, paid advertising planning, persona development and customer journey management, competitive landscape and intel discovery, SEM and SEO.
  • Drive commercial excellence by collaborating cross-functionally with other marketing concentrations.
