The Digital Content Administrator position is designed to enhance public awareness and provide greater transparency to residents of Norwalk by developing and sharing information across the City’s social media platforms and website. This role involves collaborating with various departments to gather and draft digital communications that inform residents about the many services, programs, and events offered by the City. The Digital Content Administrator will assist the Communications Director in drafting and managing public communications, ensuring that the City’s website, signage, and other digital communication tools are effective, compliant, and functional. In this role, the administrator will draft and monitor content for the City of Norwalk's social media pages, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, to enhance public awareness and transparency. The position requires the production of various digital content types, such as social media graphics, website content, event materials, posters, flyers, and videos. The administrator will also assist in drafting media advisories, press releases, statements, and event materials, while defining and delivering projects aimed at improving the City’s website to enhance transparency and user-friendliness for residents and visitors. The Digital Content Administrator will maintain a cohesive website design, monitor web traffic, and work to increase the City’s online presence. This includes overseeing the website and departmental web pages, facilitating training for other departments on content updates, and developing a comprehensive social media strategy. The role also involves preparing communications in response to constituent inquiries on social media, collaborating closely with the Customer Services Department to enhance response rates. Additionally, the administrator will monitor activity across city-owned online properties to ensure compliance with established guidelines and best practices, consult with City management on deploying information effectively, and seek out new technologies to improve communication with various audiences. The position requires monitoring web-related software licenses for compliance and analyzing website-level analytics to improve performance and engagement.
