The Digital Asset Specialist at the Detroit Institute of Arts plays a crucial role in managing the museum's collections of digitized and born-digital assets. Under the guidance of the Digital Asset Manager, this position involves assisting with various tasks related to the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS). The specialist will support the ingestion of assets, manage rights and reproductions requests, and contribute to database cleanup and metadata creation. Additionally, the role includes the creation and updating of standards and workflows, as well as providing training and support to users of the DAMS. The specialist is expected to embody the values of the Detroit Institute of Arts, fostering a culture of belonging among both internal and external stakeholders. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role.
